A. Equiptlist is a peer-to-peer equipment sharing company that allows owners to rent out their equipment to other users. It is also an online platform to list your equipment for sale to users who are interested in purchasing new or used equipment.
Q. What items may not be listed on this website?
A. Prohibited items include but are not limited to weapons of any kind, firearms, fireworks, blasting equipment, disposable equipment, clothing, boats, hazardous materials, illegal drugs , medications, alcohol, ladders, scaffolding, crawler cranes.
Q. What are the fees associated with renting equipment as a host?
A. Listing your equipment to Rent as a Host is free, when your equipment is rented there will be an 8% Fee deducted from your payout to cover operational costs of running the Equiptlist platform.
Q. Is there a fee if I rent a piece of equipment thru Equiptlist?
A. Yes, there is a 10% surcharge fee to a customer renting a piece of equipment, these fees cover the cost of running the Equiptlist platform.
Q. What are the costs associated with listing your Equipment for sale and how long are the listings posted?
A. For $75 an owner can list any equipment For Sale on Equiptlist that is not prohibited. The For Sale listing runs for a 6-month timeframe.
Q. Why are For Sale listings 6 months?
A. For Sale listings are created in 6 month increments to give you the most value. Industry standards for large pieces of equipment to sell on the open market are around 6 months.
Q. Does Equiptlist cover the costs associated with my equipment if it is damaged or stolen during a rental?
A. No, Equiptlist acts as a third-party allowing equipment owners and users to facilitate transactions between each other. It is highly recommended that owners and users have proper insurance in place before they decide to use the Equiptlist platform to facilitate rental transactions.
